Nous sommes aujourd’hui au début d'un nouveau chapitre pour le FC Girondins de Bordeaux. Chez Sparta, au cours de ces six derniers mois, nous n'avons cessé de poser une seule et même question : que faudra-t-il pour ramener Bordeaux là où est sa place, au sommet du football français ? Nous avons rencontré des experts et des investisseurs venus du monde entier. Parmi eux, un groupe partageait notre vision et nos valeurs. Nous sommes fiers d'accueillir Park Bench comme partenaire stratégique de cette aventure.
Nous éprouvons un immense respect pour l'histoire de ce club. Bordeaux est l'un des grands noms du football hexagonal : une tradition fière, un centre de formation reconnu, des générations de joueurs d'exception, un ancrage au cœur de sa ville et de sa région. Nous mesurons la responsabilité qui accompagne l'entrée dans cette histoire, et nous savons qu'un club est bien plus qu'un bilan comptable. Notre mission est claire : honorer le passé tout en bâtissant l'avenir, avec patience et avec rigueur.
Notre priorité immédiate, c'est la stabilité : la gouvernance, la vision et le savoir-faire pour avancer avec confiance. Cela passe notamment par un dialogue ouvert et constructif avec la DNCG, dont la procédure suit son cours. Nous respectons le rôle essentiel qu'elle joue dans la préservation de la santé du football français à long terme, et nous nous engageons à travailler à ses côtés pour démontrer la solidité et la pérennité financières dont ce club a besoin. La reconstruction prendra du temps, mais Bordeaux dispose de toutes les fondations pour renaître.
À travers toutes les tempêtes, la fidélité des supporters bordelais a été tout simplement extraordinaire. Leur passion a porté ce club dans ses heures les plus sombres, et nous voulons qu'ils le sachent : ils seront au centre de chacune de nos décisions. Le centre de formation, la ville, toute la communauté des bords de Garonne et le maillage des clubs locaux partenaires — voilà ce que nous aimons, et ce que nous sommes venus renforcer pour les générations à venir.
Nous remercions le maire de Bordeaux, Thomas Cazenave, et son équipe pour le rôle décisif qu'ils ont joué dans la réalisation de cette transaction. La volonté de la ville de soutenir le club constitue l'un des piliers du succès futur des Girondins, et nous nous réjouissons à la perspective de poursuivre un dialogue fructueux avec la ville et la métropole dans les années à venir.
Nous tenons aussi à remercier Gérard Lopez, qui a accepté de travailler avec Sparta Capital afin de trouver de nouveaux investisseurs capables d'assurer la continuité du projet et de poursuivre le développement des Girondins de Bordeaux. Sans son engagement personnel et son soutien jusqu'aux derniers instants, cette opération n'aurait pas pu aboutir.

Je m'y attacherai avec toute l'humilité et l'énergie nécessaires, et je remercie Gérard Lopez ainsi que Park Bench de leur soutien et de leur participation pour finaliser la transaction à temps. »

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for FC Girondins de Bordeaux. For six months we asked one question: what will it take to bring Bordeaux back to where it belongs, at the summit of French football? We listened to voices from all over the world, and one spoke our language. We are proud to welcome Park Bench as our partner in this journey.
We have enormous respect for the history of this club. Bordeaux is one of the great names in the French game, with a proud tradition, generations of outstanding players, and a place at the heart of its city and region. We recognise the responsibility that comes with joining that story, and we understand that a club is far more than a balance sheet. Our task is to honour the past while building, patiently and with discipline, for the future.
Our immediate priority is stability: the governance, the vision and the savoir-faire to move forward with confidence. A key part of that is engaging openly and constructively with the DNCG as its process continues. We respect the vital role it plays in protecting the long-term health of French football, and we are committed to working with it and demonstrating the financial stability and sustainability this club needs. Rebuilding will take time, but Bordeaux has every foundation needed to rise again.
Through every storm, the loyalty of Bordeaux’s supporters has been nothing short of extraordinary. Their passion has carried this club through its hardest days, and we want them to know they will be at the centre of every decision we make. The academy, the city, the wider community along the Garonne—these are what we love, and what we are here to strengthen for generations to come.
We thank Mayor Cazenave and his team for the decisive role they played in making the transaction possible. The city’s willingness to support the club is a key foundation of the future success of the Girondins and we look forward to a continued fruitful dialogue with the city and the metropole in the coming years.
We would also like to thank Gérard Lopez, who agreed to work with Sparta Capital to find new investors capable of ensuring the continuity of the project and pursuing the development of Girondins de Bordeaux. Without his personal commitment and his support until the very last moment, this transaction would never have happened.
