Valentin from strength to strength
Valentin Vada was born on 6th March 1996 in Guadalupe (Argentina), and went through the youth system in Proyecto Crecer. He moved to France at the age of 14 and joined the Girondins de Bordeaux, entering our Academy and rapidly making a name for himself. In 2012 he was top scorer at the Montaigu youth tournament with 7 goals. After some administrative wrangling about the legality of signing a young player from another continent, Valentin Vada finally signed a contract with Bordeaux in 2014.
Valentin was part of the U19 team which won the Coupe Gambardella in 2013, alongside Gaëtan Laborde and Jérôme Prior. He also made regular appearances for the reserves, impressing Patrick Battiston with his abilities. His first-team debut came in the Europa League game against Rubin Kazan.
Last year Valentin featured in 34 matches in all competitions, his busiest season to date. He scored his first ever Ligue 1 goal against Toulouse (1-0) and ended the season on 6 goals and 2 assists. Valentin has established himself as one of the team's most valuable attacking midfielders, with all the attributes needed to achieve great things with the Girondins de Bordeaux.
