Made in Bordeaux
Jérôme was born on 8th August 1995 in Toulon, but is a graduate of the Girondins' youth academy. Arriving here in 2012, he made his debut with the CFA team at the age of 17. Young and bursting with talent, he rapidly became the team's second-choice goalkeeper.
Jérôme spent four seasons with the CFA squad, making thirty appearances. He was part of the Coupe Gambardella-winning team of 2013, starting every game in that magical cup run and winning his first trophy. His performances did not go unnoticed by the first team coaches.
Solid and ruthlessly efficient between the sticks, Jérôme was handed his first professional contract in 2015 and stepped up to understudy Cédric Carrasso. When Carrasso got injured, Jérôme made 13 appearances in Ligue 1 in his very first professional season. Impressed by these performances, the club extended his contract until 2020.
Jérôme has earned the total trust of his team-mates and coaches, and has all the qualities required to become a long-term fixture in the Girondins goal.
In 2016/2017 Jérôme had his busiest season yet, making 19 appearances in all competitions. He played 14 games in Ligue 1, one in the Coupe de France and four in the League Cup. More precious first-team experience for Prior, who continues to grow and improve season after season.
