A late winner for Bordeaux ! (1-2)
Girondins victorious in Angers
Thanks to a splendid injury-time strike from Yann Karamoh, Bordeaux nicked all three points in Angers.
In the end it all came down to a moment of genius from the Number 8. Sprinting out of his own half, he cut inside before placing a curving shot past Butelle and inside the post (90'+2). A goal which sealed victory for the Girondins, just when the game seemed destined to end in another draw.
Bordeaux took the lead in the first half courtesy of a volley from Samuel Kalu (31'), with Maxime Poundjé providing the assist. Angers had dominated the opening exchanges, but from then on the Girondins took control.
The second half was more evenly-matched, with Angers winning yet another debatable penalty thanks to the VAR. Reine-Adelaïde stepped up to take it, but Benoît Costil went the right way and stopped his shot! That didn't stop Angers from equalising shortly afterwards, Pavlovic heading home from a corner (63'). Both teams looked content to grind out a draw. But Yann Karamoh had other ideas…
