A superb result in Dijon! [0-3]

The Girondins got their 20th appearance of the league season off to the best possible start, when Yoann Barbet connected with Clément Michelins superb free kick to head in the opening goal (12’, 0-1). It was the captain's 4th goal of the season, and his first in Ligue 2!

Bordeaux were in total control of the game in the first half, dominating the midfield and preventing Dijon from keeping hold of the ball.

Shortly after the break, Yoann Barbet pounced again to double the lead! The central defender curled a sublime free-kick past the keeper and into the net, taking his tally for the season to 5 goals (56’, 0-2).

Just a few minutes later, Dilane Bakwa put the game to bed, scoring his fourth goal of the season with a precisely-placed left-footed effort (60’, 0-3).

The hosts were stunned by this one-two combination, and their tentative efforts at a comeback were stopped in their tracks.

The Girondins saw out the rest of the game with confidence and determination, and Gaëtan Poussin showed that the cold and the late hour had done nothing to blunt his reflexes when he produced a fine diving save (81’). Another clean sheet for the Bordeaux keeper.

These three points in Dijon will be very welcome indeed as the Girondins prepare for one of the biggest games of the season so far: this Tuesday 31 January, they host league leaders at the Matmut ATLANTIQUE, kick-off 20:45.
