The Girondins in Europe
Since the days of the Latin Cup in the 1960s (precursor to the European and UEFA Cups), the Girondins have been a regular fixture in European tournaments.
The Girondins have enjoyed some truly legendary matches in Europe, including the semi-final of the European Cup in 1985, against a Juventus side led by a certain Michel Platini, and of course the UEFA Cup quarter final against AC Milan in 1996. All in all, Bordeaux have taken part in 34 European campaigns and played 208 matches, winning 100, drawing 45 and losing 63 (290 goals scored / 238 conceded).
