The Girondins de Bordeaux are pleased to announce the arrival of David Cardoso (full name David Rui de Kong Cardoso). At 24 years old, David will start his Bordeaux career with the reserves. He made the move to Lisbon at the age of 16 to join the Benfica academy, going on to start his professional career in Portugal.

David spent his early years with Feirense, Mafra, Loures and Cova Piedade, featuring mostly in the Campeonato Nacional (the third tier of Portuguese football). He then signed for Braga, and discovered the second division with the club's reserve side.
