Alexandre Mendy is heading out on loan to EA Guingamp with immediate effect. He will spend the rest of the season with his former club.

The Girondins de Bordeaux and EA Guingamp have reached an agreement for a loan spell with no option to buy for Alexandre Mendy (22 matches, 3 goals). This loan will take immediate effect, and Alexandre will be available to play for the Breton club this weekend.

Alexandre Mendy heads north to the Côtes d’Armor on a mission to get more first-team football. Since sustaining a very serious injury last season, he has yet to make his return at the top level. He made his last Ligue 1 appearance on 8th December 2017.

Despite this long period on the sidelines, Alexandre has been working tirelessly to get back to peak condition. He has been back in full training for several weeks now, and has made a series of impressive performances for the reserve side. He has scored three goals in four appearances in the National 2 division, and is now ready to step up to the next level.

Alexandre Mendy has lots to offer for a team fighting for their Ligue 1 survival - Guingamp are currently in last place with just 8 points. They face Nice this Tuesday in the second round of the League Cup.

We will of course be keeping a very close eye on Alexandre's performances with Guingamp, and we wish him all the very best for the second half of the season.
