Bordeaux striker heads out on season-long deal

Alexandre Mendy has been loaned to Stade Brestois, with no option to buy.

Alexandre Mendy is swapping Gironde for Brittany. The centre forward is heading out on loan for the season to newly-promoted Stade Brestois 29.


Alexandre started out at Nice, but turned professional in the National division with Strasbourg, playing 13 matches and scoring 6 goals in Alsace. In 2014 he made the move to Ligue 2 outfit Nîmes. 

He then made his Ligue 1 debut with Nice in 2015, making 21 appearances and scoring 6 goals. The following year he signed for Guingamp and put in another solid season, scoring 6 times in 29 appearances in all competitions. 


Alexandre Mendy joined the Girondins in 2017. In his first season in Bordeaux he featured in 18 matches and scored 4 goals. The following season saw him rejoin Guingamp on loan, scoring 3 goals in 16 games
