A busy weekend for the Girondins' youth teams
CLUB - Monday, October 7, 2019 - 12:01
Two wins, two draws and one defeat: a mixed bag for the club's youth and reserve teams.
Reserves - National 3
The Girondins picked up a point from a game which seemed like a lost cause down in Mont de Marsan (2-2). Trailing by 2 goals to 0, Manu Giudicelli's side gave an impressive display of mental strength to salvage a draw. Ismaël Sow gave Bordeaux reason to hope (85’), and David Cardoso fired in the equaliser in the final seconds! The Girondins' reserve outfit are currently in 13th place with 6 points, but this hard fought draw against second-placed Mont-de-Marsan could prove to be crucial later on in the season. After two consecutive draws, the reserves will face FC Bassin d’Arcachon next week.
U19 - National Division
The Girondins' good run continued this weekend, with a third consecutive victory in the form of an away win in Tours (2-3). Bordeaux established a 3-0 lead with goals from Mohamed Aggoun, Lucas Rocrou and Tijany Atallah (44'), before Tours pulled two back. Jérôme Drouin's team are 2nd in their league, behind an Angers side who have won all seven of their games so far.
U19 Ladies - National Division
After last week's nightmare in Fleury, the girls bounced back this week to beat Soyaux on home turf (1-0). They currently sit 3rd in the table, behind Fleury and Orléans, the latter of whom will be their next opponents.
U17 - National
Bordeaux slipped to a second consecutive loss this weekend, this time in Balma (3-1). 5th in the league with 10 points, the Girondins will be looking to turn things around against Vertou next week.
U17 - Regional
The U17 regional side beat Mérignac's reserve team this weekend (3-1), their 3rd consecutive victory. Bordeaux are currently 2nd in the league behind Pau, who are still unbeaten.
